What is Registrar Lock?
Registrar Lock is an additional security feature available for some of the domain TLDs that we offer, such as .com, .net, .biz, .org, .us, .in, .me, .tv, .cc, .nu, and .asia. This feature prevents unauthorized domain transfers, helping to secure your domain name from being taken over without your authorization.
How to Check and Manage the Registrar Lock Status
By default, newly registered domains are locked by our system. However, if you need to transfer your domain or manage the lock status, you can unlock or lock your domain at any time. To do this:
- Go to the My Domains > Registered Domains section of your Web Hosting Control Panel.
- In the Status column, find the Registrar Lock icon (
).
- Click on the icon to view the current status of your domain (locked or unlocked).
- Use the button to either Lock or Unlock the domain depending on your requirements.

Transferring Domains
If you are transferring a domain to our company and the domain status is “locked” or “transfer prohibited,” you will need to contact your current registrar to unlock the domain for transfer. On the other hand, if you are transferring a domain away from us or just want to unlock it, you can easily do so through our control panel.
Important Notes
To ensure the safety of your domain names, we strongly recommend keeping them locked at all times unless you plan to transfer them. If your domain extension does not support Registrar Lock, the transfer process will typically require a transfer code or email approval.
If you are unsure about how to transfer your domain, please open a ticket through the Help section located at the top right of your hosting control panel.
