Can I Register/Renew My Domain Name for More Than One Year?
Understanding your domain registration options
1. Domain Registration Periods
Each domain extension has a fixed registration period. For common extensions like .com, .net, .org, .info, and .biz, this period ranges from 1 to 10 years.
2. Renewal Options for Active Domains
If your domain is currently active, you can renew it for multiple years. However, the total duration after renewal cannot exceed 10 years.
To see your renewal options, navigate to My Domains > Registered Domains in your control panel.
3. Handling Expired Domains
If you are renewing an already expired domain, it can only be renewed for 1 year. Once the domain is reactivated, you can then add multiple years with a single order.
4. Country-Code Extensions
Most country-code extensions have shorter registration periods. For example:
- .ES: between 1 and 5 years
- .COM.AU: minimum of 2 years
To find out the maximum registration period for a specific domain extension, try to order it or check the renewal options from your domain management dashboard.
