Error About Undisclosed Address
Category: Emails
Whenever someone tries to send you an email, they may receive a bounce message with the following error:
an undisclosed address
(generated from [email protected])
(generated from [email protected])
The reason for this error is usually that the mail storage has been exceeded. This can happen either in the hosting account's mail storage or in the specific mailbox storage quota.
Here’s how you can resolve it:
- Check Mail Storage: Review your mail storage usage under the Account Usage table in your hosting control panel.
- Check Mailbox Disk Usage: Go to the Email section, then Mailboxes. Click on the mailbox name to see its current disk space usage (e.g., 5.7 MB of 10.0 GB).
- Upgrade Storage: If the hosting mail storage has exceeded its limit, you can purchase more storage from the Add/Upgrade service(s) section in your hosting account.
- Temporary Fix: If the local mailbox quota is exceeded, temporarily increase it, clean up old emails, and then reset the quota.
By following these steps, you can ensure that your email service remains smooth and efficient.
