How to Block Visitors from Your Website
This guide explains how to block users or bots from accessing your website using the IP Blocking tool.
Using IP Blocking
The IP Blocking tool allows you to deny access to your entire website or specific folders by blocking IP addresses or ranges.
Locating the Tool
Access the IP Blocking tool by navigating to the **Advanced > IP Blocking** section of your Control Panel.
Blocking an IP Address
Here's how to block a single IP address:
- Select the domain you want to protect from the **Hostname** dropdown menu.
- Enter the IP address you want to block in the **IP Address** field.
- Click the **Block an IP Address** button to save the changes.
Blocking an IP Range
To block a range of IP addresses, follow these steps:
- In the **IP Address** field, enter only the first two octets (e.g., 225.200 for the range 225.200.xxx.xxx) and leave the remaining fields blank.
- For a range like 215.xxx.xxx.xxx, enter just the first octet (215) and leave the rest blank.
Blocking a Specific Folder
If you want to block access to a subfolder (e.g., my-best-domain.com/folder [invalid URL removed]), specify the path in the **Path** field. You can also click the browse button (...) to navigate and select the folder.
