How to Change the WHOIS Details of a Domain Name
Category: Domains and DNS
Most domain name types (TLDs) that we register offer the option to change these contact details.
Option 1: Edit WHOIS Details
- In the Registered Domains section (My Domains > Registered Domains), find the 'eye' icon ( ) in the Edit DNS/WHOIS column for the domain you wish to edit.
- Click on the icon to open a form where you can input new contact information for each section: registrant, billing, administrative, and technical.
- If you want to use the same contact information for all sections, you can copy the information to the other sections.
- Press the Save Information button at the bottom to update the WHOIS record.
- You should see a confirmation message: The details have been modified successfully!
Note: WHOIS changes may require up to 24 hours to update worldwide.
Option 2: Change WHOIS for Multiple Domains
- Tick the checkbox next to the domain you want to edit and click the Change WHOIS button above the domains.
- Follow the steps outlined in Option 1 above.
- This option allows you to edit the WHOIS data of multiple domains at a time.
Note: The contact details of some TLDs (.co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk, .ca, .eu, .be, .at) cannot be changed. Others may require a manual change. If you encounter any errors, contact us via the Help Center.
Important: The WHOIS record is public, exposing your personal contact details. Consider purchasing the WHOIS ID protection service to hide your information. Providing false contact information is illegal and may result in domain registration cancellation.
