How to Downgrade to a Cheaper Hosting Plan

Understanding the Need to Downgrade Your Hosting Plan

For a variety of reasons, you might find that you need to downgrade your current hosting plan to a cheaper package. Whether you’re not using all the resources your plan offers or you're simply looking to save on hosting costs, downgrading can be a smart choice.

Why Downgrade to a Cheaper Hosting Plan?

Some common reasons for downgrading your hosting plan include:

  • You’re not using the full capacity or features of your current hosting plan.
  • You want to reduce your hosting expenses while still maintaining essential services.
  • Your website or business has scaled down, so you no longer need as much server capacity.

How to Request a Downgrade?

The option to downgrade your hosting plan is only available upon request. To initiate the process, please contact our Sales Department by submitting a support ticket. Here's how:

  • Go to the Help section located in the top right corner of your account.
  • Select Open a Ticket and mention that you'd like to downgrade your hosting plan.

When is the Best Time to Downgrade?

The ideal time to downgrade your hosting plan is just before your plan renews for the next billing cycle. This way, you can maximize the resources of your current plan before transitioning to a lower-cost package.

Downgrade Restrictions

Please note that downgrading is only possible if the resources you’re currently using (such as hosted domains, databases, etc.) are equal to or fewer than the resources offered by the new, cheaper hosting plan.

For example:

  • If you have four domains hosted but wish to downgrade to a plan that only allows two, you’ll need to remove two domains before downgrading.
  • This rule applies to all other resources, including databases, email accounts, and storage space.

Key Points to Remember

  • Downgrading your hosting plan reduces your costs but requires that your current usage fits within the limitations of the new plan.
  • Request downgrades through our Sales Department by opening a support ticket.
  • Make sure to remove any resources that exceed the limits of the new plan before initiating the downgrade.
