Email Sending Troubleshooting Guide

Resolve issues with outgoing mail from Webmail, Outlook, Thunderbird, and contact forms.

Webmail Issues

If you're experiencing issues sending emails via our Webmail clients, ensure that the email account is configured correctly on our mail servers.

Follow these steps:

  • Go to My Domains > DNS Records in your Web Hosting Control Panel.
  • Verify that your MX records point to our mail servers. If they have been changed, revert them by clicking the Revert button.
  • Wait up to 2 hours for the changes to propagate worldwide. If the issue persists, open a support ticket.

Email Client Issues (Outlook, Thunderbird, Mac Mail)

There are several potential reasons for outgoing mail issues with desktop email clients:

1. 550 Relay Not Permitted Error

This error may occur if authentication fails. Check our guide for resolving this issue: "550 Relay Not Permitted".

2. Connection Termination Error

If the connection terminates during sending, your ISP may be blocking the default SMTP port (25). Try using port 2525 instead.

Refer to our guide on changing the SMTP port: How to Change the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Port.

Web Contact Forms

If a PHP/Perl contact form on your website fails to send emails, follow our configuration guide here: Configuring Your Mail Form Properly.

Email Setup for Popular Platforms

Make sure that email accounts are configured correctly in the following platforms:

  • Joomla: Set the "Mail from" address to a hosted email account.
  • WordPress: Set the "Email address" field in the settings to a hosted email.
  • Moodle: Configure "No-reply" and "Support email" fields to hosted accounts.
  • phpBB3: Enable board-wide emails and set contact emails to hosted accounts.
