UID SORT: Internal Error occurred
The error occurs when you log in to a mailbox using Roundcube webmail. You may experience an issue with the email listing and the following error in the bottom right corner: UID SORT: Internal Error occurred. Refer to the server log.
Possible Causes
There are two reasons for this error:
- Your mailbox disk space quota is exceeded.
- Your account exceeded your plan Mail Storage.
Solutions
For Exceeded Disk Space Quota:
To check your mailbox disk usage, return to Email -> Mailboxes and click on your mailbox name. If exceeded, you’ll see something like:
Disk Space: 10.0 GB (100%) of 10.0 GB used
Solution:
- Go to your email accounts list and click on next to your mailbox under the Mailbox Limits column.
- Temporarily increase the mailbox disk quota and log back in to clean/delete some emails.
- Use a mail client like Outlook or Thunderbird for POP3 access or IMAP deletion.
For Exceeded Mail Storage:
Check Account Usage -> Mail Storage to confirm if your account requires more mail storage. You can upgrade your mail storage as needed.
Note: Deleting a mailbox from the Email Accounts section does not delete the mailbox directory, which is a fail-safe feature. Please submit a support ticket if you need a mailbox to be completely deleted.
