Category: Domains and DNS
Steps to Obtain a Dedicated IP
If your hosting package doesn’t include a dedicated IP, you can easily get one as an upgrade.
- Go to the Add or Upgrade service(s) section.
- Select IP Addresses, choose the number you need, and complete payment.
- Once approved, you'll find your IPs under the Account Usage table and Dedicated IPs section.
Note: The cost is prorated until your hosting plan expires. You can renew both the hosting and add-ons later.
Assigning the IP to Your Domain/Subdomain
To use your dedicated IP:
- Go to My Domains > Dedicated IPs and click Request IP Address.
- To assign it to a domain or subdomain, visit the Subdomain Manager, create or edit the subdomain, and choose the IP from the dropdown.
- Changes may take up to 10 minutes to take effect, with additional propagation time of up to 24 hours.
Important Notes
Remember, changing the IP for the "www" subdomain also updates it for the main domain.
